The Piano Is Louder This Time - Album by Ethan Palmer

After over two years of work, I am proud to release my second album, The Piano Is Louder This Time.  I hope that you might download it and give it a listen.  The track listing is as follows:

ACT  I

1. Overture

2. Levantine Waltz

3. Eden was Overrated,Anyways

4. Babeling

5. Persepolis

6. Interlude

ACT II

7. False Accommodations

8. Constant Motion

9. Faded Blue Pen

10. Idle Hands

11. Turnabout

12. Mallory

13. Reprise

There are two ways that you can get the album.  The first is my bandcamp account here:

http://ethanpalmer.bandcamp.com/album/the-piano-is-louder-this-time

This is a pay-what-you-will system, so you can pay anything from free to whatever.  However, if you would rather download it for free, I recommend that you use this link instead:

http://www.mediafire.com/?cvj9hc2zqcpih95

Bandcamp allows me a limited number of free downloads, so this would work better for if you are planning to download a free copy anyways.  The mediafire link also does a much better job at including all of the album artwork and liner notes.

Please don’t feel guilty about not paying for the album if you don’t want to.  I just want all of you to listen to it, so please download it regardless!  If you really like it you can always purchase it from the bandcamp site afterwards.  Or not.  As long as you give it a listen I will be happy.

Special thanks to Devin William Daniels, Alix Duggins, and James Nolte, who helped provide additional instrumentation and vocals on the album.  And thank you to all of my friends who have supported me and my music over the years!

Download it, give it a listen, and let me know what you think!

And yes, I promise: the piano is louder this time.

Enjoy!

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

The last song from my upcoming EP, “The Piano is Louder This Time”

It is the last in a 4 part series that all goes together into one larger piece.  I’ll post that later.  This track is called “Persepolis”

Do you remember,

before the moon stole the sun’s crown?

Standing on giants

We were kings and gods and this was our town.

We were in over our shoulders

And it all came crashing down.

I was a mountain

before the rain swept it all away.

This was an empire

we watched it sink into decay.

And we were in over our shoulders

And we were in over our shoulders

I was a mountain

until I draped my head

under the covers

of blinding insignificance.

And we were in over our shoulders

And we were in over our shoulders.

There used to be houses here.

There used to be houses here.

This was different

I never tried so hard.

It was a battle

and I damn well wouldn’t be on my heart.

I knew it was over

but I wasn’t man enough to let it see the light.

If you’re always wrong

you might as well pretend you’re always right.

I’m always right.

And we were in over our shoulders.

And we raised our hands up.

There used to be houses here.

And there used to be people here.

There used to be roads and theaters.

Sing it louder.

Sing it softer.

Sing it anyways you want ‘cause

in the end it doesn’t really matter.

And we were in over our shoulders

And we raised our hands up.

We were trying to breach the soil.

And there used to be houses here.

And there used to be people here.

There used to be roads and theaters.

Then the soil swept it down.

And we raise our hands, raised our hands up.

We raised our hands, raised our hands up.

We were trying to breach the soil.

But, we could never breach the soil.

I was a mountain.

I was a mountain.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming– “Wow! What a Ride!
